HIKING: Lake Monroe Conservation Area - Kratzert Tract

← FL HOWELL CREEK SLAVIA FL Triple Blaze →

Description

The Kratzert Tract of the Lake Monroe Conservation area is a wildlife management area, meaning hunting is allowed here during hunting season. USE CAUTION during deer season (i don't even go here until after general gun season is over). While there is a 1.4 mile loop marked on the maps, there are many other hunting trails, and a blue-blazed trail within the area. About a mile or so from the parking lot is a campground that can be found by following the sign at the trail intersection. This tract is huge and borders the St. Johns river.<br />
